Merry-Go-Round

Explore

Go up and down and round and round on the magical carousel located in Petrie Plaza in the Canberra Central Business District. This picturesque carousel delights children and adults alike with its air of olde-worlde charm. Most of the horses and elephants have names; even Pharlap has his place on the platform.

Beginning life in Melbourne in 1914, the carousel was installed in Canberra in 1974, and has been taking people in circles, and back in time, ever since.
