Flower Wool Painting Workshop

Event

This session explores the craft of wool painting, from choosing the right wool for your flowers to blending fibres for a natural finish.

You'll learn how to work with different needle gauges and when to use them and how to transfer your design onto your background fabric, including where to start and which wools and fibres suit different effects. Dianne will also share her approach to finishing a piece, whether that's framing it or applying it to clothing. You'll learn how to make a series of beautiful flowers which can be added to clothes you buy or even garments you make yourself.

Wild Woolly is an Australian fibre art studio founded by award-winning needle felting artist and educator Di Conroy. Based in Brisbane, Wild Woolly specialises in handcrafted needle felted sculptures, wool paintings, premium felting supplies, and inspiring workshops for all skill levels. Passionate about supporting Australian wool growers, Di carefully sources quality natural fibres and shares her expertise through online tutorials, retreats, and workshops across Australia. Her work celebrates the remarkable beauty of wildlife, combining artistic detail with traditional fibre techniques to create lifelike pieces that connect people with nature. Whether creating bespoke commissions, teaching aspiring fibre artists, or developing innovative felting kits, Wild Woolly is dedicated to inspiring creativity while championing the versatility, sustainability, and craftsmanship of wool.
