MarchMingle International Walking Festival

Event

MarchMingle is Australia's oldest and only internationally recognised walking festival, held in Canberra since 1992.

The 2027 festival runs 20-21 March and typically draws about a third of its participants from overseas, a third from interstate and a third from the Canberra region. Participants can take on endurance hikes of 21km to 42km, or choose relaxed 7km and 12km walks suited to social groups and families.

Two-day challenges such as the MegaMingle 42+24km, MultiMingle 21+24km, and MoseyMingle 12+12km let hikers and walkers earn a medal or year bar, and routes are refreshed every few years, so returning walkers always find something new.

The event is internationally accredited, with officials on hand from IML and IVV to record completions and issue passports, stamps, medals and pins. The event supports community health projects. MarchMingle is about fitness, friendship and intercultural connection, where every step brings people closer together.
