Queer Flicks at the NFSA

Event

Celebrate stories of identity, connection and self-expression with Queer Flicks, a new film series designed to bring people together in a welcoming, inclusive space. Each session begins with dedicated time to connect and unwind before the screening, creating a relaxed, community-focused cinema experience.

Launching with Lesbian Space Princess, the series features a post-screening Q&A with director Leela Varghese, offering audiences the chance to engage directly with the creative process. It continues monthly with a vibrant program of LGBTQIA+ screen favourites, including highlights like Paris is Burning (35mm), which explores New York's ballroom scene and celebrates identity, chosen family and bold self-expression.

Together, these screenings highlight the power of film to reflect diverse experiences and foster connection, inviting audiences to share in stories that are both deeply personal and widely resonant.
