Somesh Putcha Quartet

Event

Off the back of touring his first album "Ever Playful", drummer and composer Somesh Putcha is coming to Smiths with a killer quartet to explore the sounds of artists such as John Coltrane, Immanuel Wilkins, and Josh Redman. They'll create tapestries of sound with their searching melodies and mesmerising interplay. With a healthy mix of standards and originals.

Joined by: James Luke (Double Bass), Danny Junor (Sax), and Thomas Fell (Sax).

Somesh is a drummer and a musical omnivore. He has created a fearless, curious and uplifting sound. Musically he has been inspired by the adventurous and spiritual nature of artists such as John Coltrane, Mark Guiliana, and his mentor Colin Stranahan. He draws from further afield listening to artists like Kendrick Lamar, Noname, and David Bowie. He strives to continue the work of these luminaries and create personal and transformative music.
