The Lost Wonders of the City at Verity Lane Market

Event

A week-long, family-led evening experience transforming the city into a playful discovery hub as part of the Wonderful World Festival. Running nightly from 6pm, plus a Saturday afternoon animal garden, this free, drop-in program invites families to step into a series of imaginative, interactive encounters designed for all ages.

Each night reveals a new themed "wonder fragment" — from family trivia where kids often hold the answers, to roaming mini performances, live music dedications, collaborative game shows and playful bingo finales. Families can arrive at any time, join in instantly, and create shared memories through creativity, laughter and friendly competition.

A Saturday afternoon petting-zoo garden offers a relaxed daytime experience for younger visitors, while the evening, encourages families to dine, explore and stay longer in the city.

Designed for families of all structures — including grandparents, your chosen family, carers, and even furry companions — The Lost Wonders of the City celebrates connection across generations. Accessible, welcoming and participation-focused, it's a joyful gathering point that turns ordinary nights out into extraordinary, shared moments in the heart of Canberra.
