You Tell My Mum, I’m Dead

Event

The end of Year 12 means only one thing for the new Canberra grads – Schoolies has begun.

For Layla, Max, and Cara, the promised ritual of a week partying on the beach is the stuff of dreams. Cheap alcohol and coconut sunscreen fuels the week, but when one of them is roofied the shock of the real world arrives.

With no help outside their Airbnb, the girls grapple with entering adulthood where safety isn't promised, friendships are fragile, and the lines between fear and fact blur fast. Unpacking the past year and navigating the daunting future could all become futile as a tiny pinprick under someone's shorts bubbles into a mortal threat.

A biting and essential new work, You Tell My Mum, I'm Dead, is a tale felt by women of every generation, that stares down realities experienced all too often.
