Why take part?
Eligible Fringe events will be promoted on InTheCity.com.au as part of the La Fiesta campaign, helping more people discover your event and experience Latin American culture across the City Centre.
Is your event eligible?
Your event can be considered for the unofficial La Fiesta Fringe Program if it:
- takes place in the City Centre Marketing and Improvements Levy collection zone
- celebrates Latin American culture
- is held between 30 October and 15 November 2026
- is a special public or audience-based activity, rather than business as usual
- complements the broader La Fiesta celebration period
What organisers need to do
- Organise, fund and manage your event independently.
- Obtain all required permits, licences, approvals and public liability insurance.
- Manage safety, risks, security, venue requirements, food and beverage compliance, staff and volunteers.
- Clearly identify your organisation as the event organiser.
- Tell us immediately if the event is cancelled, postponed, moved or significantly changed (via cityrenewal@act.gov.au).
How to describe your event
The Fringe Program is unofficial. To avoid confusion with the City Renewal Authority’s main event:
- do not use ‘La Fiesta’ in your event title
- do not describe your event as an official La Fiesta event or suggest it is organised by the City Renewal Authority
- you may say: “Part of the La Fiesta Fringe Program. Visit InTheCity.com.au/La-Fiesta for festival information.”
How to be listed
- Create an Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) event listing.
- Include this statement in the listing: “This event is independently organised as part of the La Fiesta Fringe Program and is not an official La Fiesta Festival event.”
- Submit the Fringe Program expression of interest form between 17 September and 15 October.
What happens next?
The City Renewal Authority will review submissions and may request changes before listing an event. Events that do not meet these guidelines, or no longer meet them, may be declined or removed from promotion.
