Sniffing, smelling and marking - these are a few of a dog's favourite things! Their sense of smell is 1,000 to 10,000 times more powerful than humans'. Their 300 million olfactory receptors (you only have around 5 million) are constantly picking up new scents. It's estimated that around 30 per cent of their brains is dedicated just to analysing odours. No wonder they can sniff out a treat from many metres away! Scent is a huge part of how dogs see and sense the world - let's celebrate smells!
