Winter in the City

Warm light, lifted spirits, and something for everyone to gather around. Every afternoon and evening, right in the heart of the city.

Step into the heat of the city this winter

When and where

8 - 18 July*

Stop by for a look. Stay for what unfolds.

*Please note, there are no shows on Monday 13 July while performers take a well-earned rest during the Winter in the City program.

Start with the main acts

Circus first. Then the night lifts into something bigger as fire, sparks and movement take over the space – everyday* across the school holidays.

World-class performances. All free.

Daily at 3:30pm*

Circus Oz

Frills, bravery, and physical audacity. Circus Oz pushes, lifts and flips what the body can do. Fast, courageous, and hard to take your eyes off.

With Here, There and Everywhere!, the brand new show from Circus Oz and performing in Canberra for the first time, expect larger than life acrobatics, live music, and a playful pandemonium that unfolds in all directions in perfectly timed unpredictability.

Bring the kids, the parents, the grandparents. It’s a multigenerational good time for the whole neighbourhood, where nobody looks away.

Daily shows at 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm*

Flux Fire Shows

Crowds gather closer as the Flux Fire Shows turn the night into something you feel as much as you watch. With three shows each evening, each performance builds. Begin with fire as we know it, through high-impact pyrotechnics, to a finale where flame and technology collide in a theatrical close.

Make a night of it in the City Centre. Catch a show before dinner, stay late for drinks, or explore what’s on around the performances with nearby bars, restaurants and late-night spots keeping the city buzzing.

Origins – 5:30 pm

Origins is a grounded, fire-led opening built on traditional fire props and live flame effects. Raw, physical choreography drives the performance as movement and heat build steadily as curiosity transforms into something commanding.

Surge.exe – 6:30 pm

Surge.exe shifts things into precision. High-impact pyrotechnics and pixel systems take over, with impressively timed sequences, fast transitions and a sharp, controlled energy running through the performance.

Equilibrium – 7:30 pm

Equilibrium is a celebratory finale where everything comes together. Fire props, pyrotechnics and lights sync in a layered, choreographed close. It’s even bigger, brighter, and sure to ‘fire up’ the crowd.

There’s more that heats up

Surrounding the City Centre, there’s something for everyone. Discover unexpected finds that’ll take you by surprise and keep the night going.
